Teacher Appreciation Week is coming May 4th – 8th! The PTO has several fun things planned to show our teachers and staff just how thankful we are for them.
We have several activities planned for the week to thank the teachers and staff who care for our kids. This year’s schedule steers away from food, but still has donation and volunteer needs. Please see what we have planned below:
- Chalk the Walk – On Sunday, May 3 from 4-6pm we will decorate the sidewalks around Lincoln with messages of gratitude and thanks for our teachers and staff to see when they arrive Monday morning. Chalk will be provided, but if you have extra, feel free to bring it along!
- Staff Restroom Refresh – Let’s bowl over the teachers and staff by transforming the staff restrooms with some self-care items. We are looking for volunteers and donations to decorate the 6 staff restrooms to make them a little nicer when our educators need a (bathroom) break. Volunteers needed Monday, May 4 from 2:30-3:30pm. Donation needs are listed in the Sign Up Genius below.
- You’ve Got Mail – Friday morning, our educators will arrive at school to a surprise in their mailboxes – a $5 gift card! We are seeking donations of teacher friendly (Amazon, Target) and local (restaurants, shops) $5 gift cards.
If you are able please sign up to volunteer or donate here!
And if volunteering or donation are not in the cards right now but you’d like to contribute in some way, your child can write or draw a note to let their educator(s) know how much they are appreciated. That probably means more than anything the PTO can do!
Let’s show our teachers and staff how much we appreciate them!

We’re looking for donations for Half Day Happenings, on Friday, May 8th.
Please take a look at this sign up, donate what you can and help make this year’s Half Day Happenings the best yet!
Half Day Happenings is a community-building, fun-filled morning for both students and staff! Students and staff will participate in an enrichment activity for approximately 90 minutes, and then return to their classrooms for a half-day lunch schedule and classroom community meeting.

The Lincoln Student Council is hosting a bake sale this Friday, May 1 after school on the back playground. Baked goods will be $2 each package. Proceeds from the bake sale will go to support the Community Closet and other Lincoln School efforts!
We’re looking for donations for allergen-free baked goods. If you are able to donate, please If you are able to donate, please reach out to Ms. Lesperance (clesperance@melroseschools.com) or Ms. Munro (rmunro@melroseschools.com). Thank you!

The Lincoln School community has been coming together to provide meals, personal hygiene and new or gently used clothing for families in our community. There is an open door, no questions asked policy in the school main office for families to come in and grab bags of pre-packed breakfast, lunch and dinner bags that would serve a family of 4. We have also been supplementing these with the grocery gift cards.
- Pasta sauce
- Coffee
- Whole grain breakfast cereal
- Cooking oil
Food donations can be dropped off in the clear Food Donations bin that is next to the lost and found by the main entrance. Any other items can be dropped off in the Main Office. Every contribution makes a difference—thank you for supporting our families!
