Talent Showcase

The 2026 Hoover Hawks Talent Showcase takes the stage on Friday, Jan 30, from 6:00–8:00pm at Melrose Middle School.
Students in grades 3–5, their parents, and Hoover staff will be part of the spotlight.
Tickets
Showcase tickets can be purchased in early January. All Hoover families are invited and encouraged to attend!

Talent Showcase Guidelines
- All showcase participants must be
- A current 3rd, 4th or 5th grade student, or
- A parent of a current 3rd, 4th or 5th grade student, or
- A current Hoover staff member
- Participants are limited to one performance throughout the entire showcase.
- All performances are limited to a 3-5 minute maximum time.
- All participants must register by Dec 12 and receive a time slot to audition
- Auditions will be held on selected dates/times the week of December 15th.
- All participants must audition to participate. If you are unable to attend in person a video submission will be considered.
- Optional rehearsals will be held at Hoover Elementary during the weeks prior to the event.
- Mandatory dress rehearsal (with K-2 student audience) will be held at Hoover Elementary on January 23, 2026 during school hours.
- Showcase tickets will be available for purchase in early January. All Hoover families are invited and encouraged to attend!
- Showcase proceeds will benefit the Hoover PTO.
Volunteer
Not ready to share your talents but want to be involved? We will be looking for several student and parent volunteers to make show night a success! Volunteer opportunities will be available for the following positions:
- Aspiring writers! Give us your best jokes, poems, riddles etc. for the event emcee to perform!
- Ushers/Door Greeters
- Refreshment Sales
- Backstage Assistance
- Set-Up & Clean Up
Additional Information + Participation Guidelines
Music
- Showcase organizers reserve the right to deem any song inappropriate if material is questionable.
- Musical/Dance acts must be appropriate in lyrics (words/subject matter) and content (i.e. dance moves, costumes, etc.)
- Absolutely no recorded songs with muted curse words will be accepted.
Singers
- No lip-syncing or singing along with a song (unless your act is a parody) – we want to hear YOUR talent.
- All accompanying music must be instrumental or ‘Karaoke style‘.
Performers
- All performers will need to audition. Auditions will take place in the All-Purpose Room during the week of December 15th. Specific dates and times TBA.
- To receive an audition timeslot, you must submit your registration form online no later than Friday, December 12th.
- Your act should be as close to performance ready as possible during auditions i.e. props, sheet music, etc. Costumes are not necessary for auditions.
- Outside of a microphone and/or sound system, performers will be responsible for providing their own props and/or equipment i.e. instruments, amps, floor mats, balls, etc.
Parents + Families
- You may drop off your child for all auditions, rehearsals and/or meetings. Your attendance is not required.
- The showcase is strictly an opportunity to showcase the talent of our Hoover students. It is meant to be a fun and entertaining event for all. Thus, it is not a competition and there will not be any judges.
