With your support we can provide exceptional field trips, enrichment programs, and supplemental classroom supplies.

How does the event raise money?

Simply ask family and friends if they are willing to sponsor your student. Donations are not linked to how many laps your student runs. Below are instructions on how to set up a student online fundraising page. You can also collect donations via cash or check (made out to the Hoover PTO–you can drop them off in the PTO’s mailbox at the main school office). Please note that while most fundraising should be completed by the day of the run, we will accept donations until 11/30.

What does the PTO do with the money?

This fundraiser accounts for the bulk of the PTO budget for the year, funding field trips, Spirit Day, teacher supplies, library books and enrichment programs.

What about race swag?

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, every student will receive a Hoover Fun Run T-shirt. Please fill out the t-shirt form on the attached flyer to ensure we get the right size for your student. We also have some great prizes for our top lap runners, our top cheerers, and for each time we hit a fundraising milestone.

What are the prizes?

1. $10,000 – Hershey Visits
2. $20,000 – PJ Day and Freeze Pops
3. $30,000 – School-related prize
4. $45,000 – A surprise to be announced!

Running + School Spirit Awards

The following students will be recognized per grade:

• Runs the most laps
• Runs second most laps
• Has the most school spirit cheering

Setting up your personal fundraising page

1. Visit https://hooverelementary.pledgestar.com
2. Click “Not Registered For This Year’s Event”
3. Enter your name and email address, then click “Submit”
4. Follow the instructions to register Runner(s) and add family and friends
5. Submit your runner(s) t-shirt size by Sep 30

When you finish, the system will email pledge requests to your family and friends, and allows them to make secure credit card donations online. You get notified each time a pledge is made, which allows you to track your pledge progress online and send thank you notes to your generous contributors.
