About Us

Melrose PTO Inc. is the umbrella organization of Melrose Public Schools’ Parent Teacher Organizations (PTOs). It was formed to solidify each PTO’s tax exempt status, share the burden of certain common expenses (e.g. insurance) and make sure each PTO kept good business practices.

Each individual PTO has its own governance and sets it own priorities, thereby preserving the individual character of each school, creating the most impact at the ground level.

Melrose PTO Inc. is sometimes confused with Melrose Citywide PTO. Citywide PTO is simply a monthly meeting where representatives from each PTO meet with the Melrose Public Schools Superintendent and others to gather information and share resources.
